Brave Frontier Re:Coded:
"PAPS" Rework Explained
What does "PAPS" Stand For?
"Player Account Progression System"

Our first and most important rebalance going into Re:Coded.
Was a "PAPS" Rework Necessary?
Yes, to deliver a true definitive Brave Frontier experience; It's a Must.

You can read our Developer Comments below for our reasonings for these changes.
Is This Final?
Not at all! While we don't aim to tweak much of our current changes at the moment.
Once the game reaches a Live State we will be doing balance changes along with our Monthly Updates.
Energy
-
Recharge Rate was reduced from 3 minutes (180 Seconds) → 1 minute (60 Seconds)
-
Maximum Energy increased from 431 Energy → 500 Energy
-
Energy Distribution Rates Adjusted

"With these changes, we hope that this will provide a solid balance between Time and Gems. We want players to be able to have the freedom of being able to more easily play through the game in a linear fashion, while also still keeping players from being able to endlessly loop quest indefinitely."
Friends
-
Additional Friend Slots No Longer Acquireable By Gems
-
Friend Slot Distribution Rates Adjusted
-
Additional Friend Slots Added to Player Progression
-
Max Friend Slots Increased from 50 → 100

"Friends have always been something important in Brave Frontier. Whether through aiding an ally in a quest or competing alongside them in the depth of Frontier Hunter, with these changes we hope to further add value to the meaning of friendship while continuing to rework the game around being free-to-play.

Summoners will no longer need to spend Gems on increasing their friend slots, these gems can now be used for More Summons, More Space, or if you just like Hoarding!

This is also a very minor insight as to what could be potential account-boosting methods in the near future. Our intentions are to make a replayable experience engaging, while also not allowing players to possibly ruin it for others in the process.

Freedom to add players of any level will still be possible, regardless of your stage in the game."
Raid Orb Cooldown
-
Raid Orb Cooldown Added to Player Progression
-
Reduces Raid Orb Cooldown by 20 Seconds per Milestone reached.
-
Cooldown Milestones Unlock at Summoner Level 100
-
Each Milestone is achieved every (10) Levels upon reaching Level 110.
-
-
Raid Orb Max Cooldown Potential: 60 Minutes → 30 Minutes
"One of the big concerns players had reaching level 999 at the end of the original Brave Frontier, was that they lost the ability to refresh their Raid Orbs. In our new progression system, Summoners will be able to do Raid more frequently upon reaching certain Account Level Milestones."
These changes will NOT affect any Seasonal or Competitive Game Modes.
Arena Orb Cooldown
-
Arena Orb Cooldown Added to Player Progression
-
Reduces Arena Orb Cooldown by 20 Seconds per Milestone reached.
-
Cooldown Milestones Unlock at Summoner Level 100
-
Each Milestone is achieved every (10) Levels upon reaching Level 105.
-
-
Arena Orb Max Cooldown Potential: 60 Minutes → 30 Minutes
"As mentioned with 'Raid Orbs', players held the same concerns upon reaching level 999 but for 'Arena Orbs'. Summoners will be able to do Arena more frequently upon reaching Account Level Milestones.

These changes will NOT affect any Seasonal or Competitve Game Modes.
Cost
-
Maximum Cost reduced from 843 → 300
-
Cost Distribution Rates Adjusted

"This one is primarily one of the main reasons for needing a 'PAPS' rework. Since the start of the Summoner's adventure, Cost has always far exceeded what was required or available to the Summoner, whether it be through story content, or new units from the Summon Gates.
These changes will not only add more weight to the story of Brave Frontier but will make the gameplay just as engaging as it once was in the launch years of the game."
Item Slots
-
Item Slots added to Player Progression
-
Free Item Slots Acquireable (50)
-
Maximum Item Slots for Free increased 50 → 100

"As stated before regarding our Unit Slots, the community has asked for it. We will deliver."
Unit Slots
-
Unit Slots added to Player Progression
-
Free Unit Slots Acquirable (50)
-
Maximum Unit Slots for Free increased 50 → 100

"Upon reworking the Progression, we took Unit Slots into account as a potential option. Seeing how the community has longed for more Unit Slots since the launch of the game. We are happy to deliver this news to you that more slots will be available for free as you play through Re:Coded."

"This is something we hope to both excite and not scare players. Allow us to do a thorough explanation."

Players will have a Rarity Potential that they can achieve on their own accord. With this new system in place, we hope this will bring a tremendous amount of balance and replayability to the story, as well as be a soft prevention to additional account boosting methods in the future.

Summoners WILL be able to do the following, WITHOUT reaching Story Milestones
Acquire a unit of a higher rarity as a dungeon drop. ( Story, Vortex, FH )
Use a higher rarity unit in Squad (Story and Vortex) as long as the cost is able to support the Unit.

Summoners WILL NOT be able to do the following UNTIL reaching Story Milestones.
Evolve Unit Beyond Rarity Potential. (Summoners cannot evolve 3 stars into 4 until Creator Maxwell has fallen.)
Summon Beyond Rarity Potential. (Defeat the Gods for better Summoning Power)
